Mookaite
Meaning – General Information and History

Mookaite gets its name from the location where it was first discovered and is currently mined. This area is Mooka Creek in the Kennedy Ranges of Western Australia. According to locals, the Aboriginal word “mooka” means “running waters” and is a reference to the many freshwater springs that feed Mooka Creek. Furthermore, it is not surprising to find that this stone comes from the outback of the sunburnt country with its earthy colours of red, orange, white, pink, purple and any shade between.

It has a Mohs hardness factor of 6 – 7, and a vitreous lustre. Mookaite is a silicified porcelainite, from the Jasper family.

Many spelling variations and terms exist for this stone; including Mookite, Moakite, Moukite, Mookalite, Mookerite, as well as Mook or Mook Jasper. Nevertheless, according to Mooka Creek locals who named it, only “Mookaite” is the correct name.

It transmits an invigorating frequency of strength and vitality and also increases your Life Force. It is an Aboriginal Mother Earth stone. Furthermore, it is acquiring a solid reputation throughout the world because of its healing capacity. And moreover, for allowing you to experience the electromagnetic energy currents of the Earth.
