Gratitude and Greeting Cards for Staying Upbeat and Positive.

This year has been challenging emotionally, physically and mentally due to the underlying negative cloud that is hanging around us all. But we have found using Gratitude and Greeting Cards for Staying Upbeat and Positive to be an effective remedy.

While we have been going through these testing times, Sue and I have continued experiencing the joy of a project called “The Gratitude Challenge” which we started doing over a decade ago.  The challenge is to find just one person to whom you would like to express your heartfelt appreciation. Then to send them a card expressing your appreciation through the post. Then continuing doing just that, on a daily basis. Sounds simple, and it is, once you get the hang of it.

The first few weeks are usually pretty easy, as there are usually plenty of people to choose from. Let’s face it most of us have a backlog of people we should have taken the time to thank or to offer some form of appreciation to. It’s not that we are really an ungrateful lot (though I guess some of us are). Perhaps it’s more a case of just being out of the habit.

With the initial lot finished, it gets a bit harder for a little while. However, as you persist and this new habit is forming you find you have transitioned to a new scenario. Now you’re having to choose who will be the one for today from among the many candidates you have identified. We decided not to stop with just one and now send out many every day. We can’t explain the way this makes us feel. It has become a most enjoyable experience and we look forward to it every day.

Gratitude begets Gratitude.

We got involved for the cause side of the equation and we never gave thought to the effect side of the equation, but as time goes on, we regularly get contacted and thanked for our expressions of thanks and appreciation. We are also sure that one of these effects has contributed to us successfully finding our way through our challenges. Some recipients told us that our contact and cards expressing thanks were their first for many years. And in a couple of cases, the first time ever that someone had taken a moment to acknowledge what they do and who they are. “What you give is what you get” and as I said we didn’t get into this, to “get”. But I’ve got to tell you, it’s great to be on the “get” side as well.

In the book “The Secret”, gratitude was revealed to be the key ingredient or the secret within the secret. Making the attitude of gratitude a part of your life and practicing it on a daily basis cannot help but lead you closer to where you want to be, so I naturally endorse and commend it to you.

The official SendOutCards Gratitude Challenge that Sue and I joined all those years ago has finished. However, for anyone wanting to pursue it, the system for sending out your gratitude cards still exists. In fact, SendOutCards openly supports and encourages reaching out to others. Especially with the attitude and actions of gratitude, appreciation, kindness.

If you want to make it more than an attitude and pursue it as affirmative action in your life, then I recommend that you check out our website: www.sendoutcards.com/ronandsue. Naturally, if you like what you see, we would encourage you to join us in spreading a little more joy and appreciation throughout the world.

We hope that like us, you too enjoy the daily sensation of sending out Gratitude and Greeting Cards.

Or at least we would like you to experience the feeling of reaching out and expressing yourself in a card. To help you do this, you may send a FREE card from our website www.sendoutcards.com/ronandsue. All you need do is use the pink ‘SEND CARD’ button when you visit the website and that card will be on us.

Today the Gratitude Challenge has been replaced with the Postcard Program. Postcards are The Great Connector in today’s digital and personally disconnected society. The thing is that this program can be used to send out all of your gratitude or appreciation cards.
