Desiderata allied with crystals is an attempt at selecting certain crystals that may reflect the intention behind the prose.

 

 

 

One of my favourite poems of all time is Desiderata by Max Ehrmann. I have had a copy in some form or other since the early ‘70s. My favourite version is a cassette recording narrated by Les Crane. Whenever I felt times were getting tough, I would read or listen to it, and without fail things would look brighter.

In Latin, ‘Desiderata’ means ‘desired things’. The poem shines a light on a pathway for living a peaceful, happy, and satisfied life — the desired life. I believe it still resonates with us as much today as it did in 1927.

Its overall message provides a strong and positive framework for life. Furthermore, it tells us how to maintain inner peace while keeping significant things front of mind and how to balance our careers with our aspirations. It counsels us on how to be a good person, even if the world doesn’t always treat us well or fairly.

No doubt the poem provides a beautiful lesson for life! My favourite lines are: “You are a child of the Universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.  And, whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the Universe is unfolding as it should.”

What a powerful statement to remind us that we are exactly where we should be and that we all serve a purpose in this world!

 

Desiderata Allied with Crystals.

Many people see crystals as things of beauty, brilliant gemstones, and use them for healing, in jewellery, and for decorating. Crystals also carry energy frequencies that can represent ideas, feelings, and convey certain concepts.

All the stanzas in the poem are beautiful and very well expressed! So, it could be fun to look at the key points and how they might inspire us to make the most of our lives today. And furthermore, how we might align these with appropriate crystals.

The Desiderata Poem Allied with Crystals.

“Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
‘As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
‘Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.”

Desiderata Allied with Crystals: For the above stanza, I believe Amethyst best conveys its meaning.

Amethyst – Peace, Calm, Kindness, and Speaking Our Truth.

Amethyst carries an energy that allows us to achieve peace within and to find our place of silence and calm. It will also assist us to amicably deal with the noise and busyness of this world. Furthermore, it allows us to speak our truth while being respectful of others. Most importantly it helps us to be kind to everyone.

 

 

“Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
‘If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
‘Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.”

Desiderata Allied with Crystals: Smokey Quartz would align well with the thoughts above.

Smokey Quartz – Negating Irritations, Avoiding Comparison, Enjoyment.

Smokey Quartz helps us to avoid comparing ourselves to others while keeping track of the real goal of remaining happy within our own activities. Its energy also helps us to deflect and negate negative energies and annoyances. Moreover, it allows us to maintain our equilibrium. Smokey Quartz also has protective and grounding energy that helps us remain true to ourselves.

 

 

“Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
‘Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.
‘But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.”

Desiderata Allied with Crystals: Tiger Eye energies help fulfill this stanza’s intention.

Tiger Eye – High Ideals, Ethical Decision-Making, Integrity, Heroism.

Tiger Eye allows us to approach life with a heroic attitude and a steadfast belief in our abilities. It helps us to treasure life and always do our best. It promotes integrity and facilitates the proper use of power. Furthermore, it assists with achieving goals, nurtures clarity and courage, and aligns our moral standards with ethical decision-making. Provides protection from negative influences.

for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.”

Desiderata Allied with Crystals: Rose Quartz allows us to remain true and maintain our love.

Rose Quartz – Love for Self and Others, Trust, Embrace Affection

Rose Quartz is well known for encouraging unconditional love of self and others. It emits strong vibrations of love, which support emotional and relationship healing and inspire compassion. It can help us to understand ourselves better and to embrace our true nature, encouraging us to be authentic and genuine. Helps us overcome the disappointments in life.

 

 

“Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
‘Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
‘But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
‘Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
‘Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.”

Desiderata Allied with Crystals: Black Tourmaline seems to embrace this stanza’s message.

Black Tourmaline – Peaceful, Positive, Acceptance, Strength of Spirit.

Black Tourmaline’s protective qualities can shield against negative energies and promote inner strength, allowing us to safely experience life, and learn how to handle the future. It helps us find our strength of spirit when bad things happen. It can be particularly helpful when we feel overwhelmed by fear or anxiety. Provides for a more peaceful and positive acceptance of life’s flow. It helps us accept what is, rather than clinging to control or resisting change.

Desiderata Allied with Crystals: Clear Quartz is a natural metaphysical selection for this stanza.

Clear Quartz – True Self, Child of the Universe, Connection, Guidance.

Metaphysically, combining “Clear Quartz” with the concept of “a child of the universe” underlines the spiritual growth, connection to the cosmos, and the potential for manifesting our true self. It also acts as a tool to amplify our intentions and connect us with higher consciousness. Furthermore, it helps us to connect with our true selves and our place in the universe. It facilitates spiritual growth and awakening. Lets us know the universe is here to guide and lead us in our purpose.

Desiderata Allied with Crystals: This stanza brings us full circle, and Citrine embraces the frequency of the entire prose.

Citrine – Joy, Abundance, Prosperity, Optimism, Spiritual Connection.

Citrine brings joy, abundance, and prosperity, also infusing our spirit with optimism, energy, and enthusiasm. Its positive vibrations also encourage an outlook of gratitude and delight. It can truly enhance the various aspects of our lives. Promoting physical well-being, emotional harmony, and spiritual growth, it can also help you manifest your dreams and achieve your full potential. It encourages peace within our soul and acceptance of the reality of God. Citrine, labelled the ‘happy stone’, truly can help us be happy!

 

 

In Conclusion to Desiderata Allied with Crystals.

Desiderata teaches us to stand grounded and centred in our own space. Also, to remember that we are spiritual beings attached to our human bodies, with all of the strengths and foibles that contains. We are to treat life as a gift and to live it to the full.

The world may be mean and hard to navigate. But while we’re at it we may also need to remember and find the beauty within ourselves and others. Isn’t that what we most desire?

The crystals can help us maintain the vibrational frequency that best allows us to live the contented life we desire!
