The other day we were attending a Web Business Academy training seminar when we were reminded of Dr Masaru Emoto and his work with water. (Even crystal healers have to keep up to date with the latest trends in internet marketing and managing web businesses).

During the event the story of how he got into studying water was revealed. As a boy of about eight he fell into some deep water. At this time he had not learnt how to swim. As fear and panic overtook him he flayed and fought against the water.

The more he did this the more trouble he was getting into. Fortunately he was rescued and afterward his mother conveyed this wisdom to him. “My son the more you struggle against the force of the water the more it will sap your energy and the sooner you will be overcome and sink. However, if you will just learn to relax and float the water will support you and you will survive.” He took this on board and this whole experience is what began his fascination with water.

His expereince also serves as a valuable metaphor for the way we approach frustrating or more dire circumstances in our lives. The best way to get through is to float.

We have also been fascinated with his work for some time now, especially his experiments with water crystals. He takes water and exposes it to various elements and then it is frozen and its individual crystals are photographed. After it was crystalised the results were truely majestic.

The water that is exposed to positive stimulation, displays beautiful crystals like the ones displayed, while water subjected to negative stimulus displays unattractive, collapsed and lifeless crystals.

So the effects of words of love, inspiring music, inspirational thought, pictures of beauty and all the like that uplifts and supports is revealed in the crystals, as is the opposite.  

Up to 60% of our body is water. If thoughts can do that to water. Imagine what thoughts can do to us.

A thought - if our emotions and feelings have an effect on the world moment by moment, then if we send out words and images of creativity, would we then be contributing to the creation of a beautiful world?

Stone of the month.

We have now finished the birthstone series and so this month I thought we could take a look at one of the most common and readily available stones –Agate. Here we will be concentrating on the generic qualities of Agate as there are so many different varieties.

Agate is a member of the Chalcedony family and has many variations.  No gemstone is more creatively colored, striped and textured by nature than agate. Agates have a Trigonal crystal structure and occur in nodular masses in rock such as volcanic lavas.  When split open, they often reveal an amazing variety of colors and patterns and a distinct banding that distinguishes them from other forms of chalcedony (the compact, microcrystalline variety of quartz).

It is said to have been one of the stones in the breastplate of the high priest. There are legends that tell us that Persian magicians used agate to divert storms. In ancient times Agate was highly valued as a talisman or amulet, it was also said to quench thirst and protect from fevers. Historically it was placed in water used for cooking and drinking in order to dispel sickness.

Bowls crafted from agate were popular during the Byzantine Empire. Collecting agate bowls became common among European royalty during the Renaissance and many museums in Europe, including the Louvre, have spectacular examples.

Agate is an excellent stone for rebalancing and harmonising body, mind and spirit. It has the power to harmonise yin and yang, the positive and negative forces that hold the universe in place. It cleanses and stabilises the aura, eliminating and transforming negativity.  Agate enhances mental function, improving concentration, perception and analytical abilities.  It soothes and calms, healing inner anger or tension and creates a sense of security and safety.

Agate gently facilitates self acceptance and builds self confidence. It encourages quiet contemplation and assimilation of life experiences, leading to spiritual growth and inner stability.

Because of the harmonizing qualities of Agate, and its emotional energies of removing and releasing resentments and bitterness, it is also considered by many to be an excellent stone for helping to heal and improve relationships.

Agate is a very protective stone and is especially protecting for children.

Agate can cleanse and stabilize the aura by removing and/or transforming negative energy. It can strengthen the body and its connection to the earth. It also increases energy. Agate enhances healing of all kinds. It is particularly helpful with tooth and gum issues, strengthening sight, stomach problems, physical endurance, insomnia, strengthens the blood vessels, and is very useful for skin disorders.

Different types and colours of Agates will have additional properties to those above.

Numerology as applied to Crystals.

Often when looking up the various properties of crystals, you may come across the term ‘vibrates to the number 1’ or whatever number it is. Have you wondered what this about? Let’s say the stone you where looking up was Agate. Each letter in the name has a numeric value, like this;

So Agate would be 1 + 7 + 1 + 2 + 5 = 17 which then gets broken down further to 1 + 7 = 8
This means that Agate has a numeric value of 8 and vibrates to the number 8.

Let’s say your name has a numeric value of 8, known as your destiny number, then stones that also vibrate with this number would be very beneficial to you.

Or you may choose a stone to correspond with your birth date number, also referred to as your life path number. To do this you would take your birth date e.g. 18/8/1949 and add it together, 1 + 8 + 8 + 1 + 9 + 4 + 9 = 40. 4 + 0 = 4. So now you might choose stones to correspond and assist you on your life’s path. 

It is also said that the numbers that are included in your name (letter by letter) represent the minerals/crystals that will support you in actualizing your life experiences. Further that the numbers which are missing indicate experiences needed to help the spirit to successfully complete your life’s journey.

Since particular vibrations or frequencies attract, enhance and assist in the realization of certain experiences, using crystals which share our name and/or birth number help us understand our past and current experiences, why these are happening to us and how we can deal with them.

Crystal Tips and Techniques.

Using Healing Gemstones or Crystals

There are many ways to use healing gemstones or crystals, but it’s important to understand that gemstones are natural sources of energy and you don’t really have to do anything elaborate to obtain their energies. You can wear gemstones around your neck, carry them in your pocket or purse and place them throughout your house.

Cleaning Organic Stones

Organic gems like pearl, coral, and amber should only be wiped clean with a moist cloth, and preferably only when absolutely needed. They should not be washed or soaked. Due to their organic nature, these gems are both soft and porous. Be careful that they don’t come in contact with chemicals in hairspray, cosmetics, or perfume as these can damage your stones over time.

Petrified Wood

Petrified Wood provides physical energy and eases emotional pressure. It helps you keep balanced and grounded and increases your connection to nature.

Relief from insomnia

This may be obtained by placing your selection of any (one or two) of these crystals under your pillow at night: Agate, Amethyst, Celestite, Charoite, Hematite, Howlite, Lapis Lazuli, Lepidolite, Moonstone, Muscovite, Sodalite, or Topaz.

If this is insufficient, additional crystals can be added underneath the corners of your mattress or placed in the corners of your room, especially if outside influences are causing the problem. (Continued next month).

Crystal Workshop.

We will be conducting a one day Crystal Workshop “Introduction to Crystal Healing” on the 10^th April at “Akasha Keep” Lowood Qld.
