My Crystalaura Newsletter.
May 2009
Not long after you receive this newsletter it will be Mother’s
Day. This is a relatively modern day of celebration, being created at the start
of the 20th century by Anna Jarvis as
a day for each family to honor its mother. Later in life she rebelled against her own creation and
was arrested in 1948 for disturbing the peace while protesting
against the commercialization of Mother's Day. She finally said that she "wished
she would have never started the day because it became so out of control.
Personally I’m
glad that she did as it gives many families and individuals the
opportunity to honour their Mum. Mothers cheerfully welcome their gifts, but
their greatest pleasure derives from the company of their offspring and knowing
they are loved and appreciated.
So perhaps the most important thing you can do on this day is to give your Mum a big
hug and let her know she is loved and appreciated.
Someone sent us the following in an email which we thought was
appropriate to the subject;

Images of Mother
4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mummy can do
anything!
8
YEARS OF AGE - My Mum knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite
everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally,
Mother
doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF
AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly
old-fashioned...
18 YEARS OF AGE - That
old
woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS
OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about
it!
35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we
decide, let's get Mum's
opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what
Mum
would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF
AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mum.
The beauty of a woman is not in the
clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her
hair.
The beauty
of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love
resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a
facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is
reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion
that she shows, and the beauty of a woman, with
the passing years only grows!

Stone of the
month.
For all those born in the month of May, your Birthstone is Emerald.
Emerald is a type of Beryl which assists the development and appreciation
of spiritual gifts. Bliss is a keyword for Emerald. It is a stone of
inspiration and infinite patience and it also calms the mind and the emotions.
Known as the ‘stone of successful love’ it enhances domestic bliss,
bringing unconditional love and loyalty, along with unity, partnership and
promotes friendship and peace.
Emerald gives you the strength of character to overcome life’s
misfortunes. It is a stone of regeneration and recovery and can heal or calm
negative emotions, also lifting depression and providing peace.
Use it to enhance memory and to stimulate greater mental capacity and to
inspire inner knowingness and broaden vision. Useful for recovery after
infectious illness and in treatment of disorders of spine, lungs, heart,
muscles, sinuses and is soothing for the eyes. It is also said to improve
vision.
Tips for using Crystals. Ways to
prevent or overcome FLU.
There has been much ado about the swine flu of late, along with the
usual commotion of heading into flu season again. Of course prevention is much
better than cure; so do consider the following:
A couple of year’s ago when the Equine influenza was raging here in
Australia; where we live every horse in the area had the flu and most were in
quarantine for several weeks and some for months, our horse was the only one not
to get infected. Why? We gave him a crystal elixir to boost his immunity and to
prevent flu. It was made using carnelian, clear quartz, bloodstone, moss agate
and gold. We gave it to him twice a day with his food.
The use of an elixir could be an excellent way of providing some
protection for yourself and family. If you don’t know how to make an elixir, go
to our article on ‘Making Crystal Elixirs’.
To prevent flu, try an elixir of Fluorite,
Moss Agate and
to give it an extra boost add Clear Quartz.
To boost your immune system, try an elixir of Bloodstone,
Ametrine, Carnelian and Clear Quartz.
Optionally you may add Gold (I use my wedding ring), Moss Agate or
Mookaite.
If you already have the flu, a good elixir to help get over it is,
Rhodochrosite,
Blue Lace Agate
and Amethyst.
Of course each of these stones may be used individually, or you may
develop your own combination.
I prefer to make a fresh batch each day for as long as required, however
you can make a larger supply and store it for a few days in the refrigerator.
(Elixirs do lose their potency, so they should be consumed as fresh as
possible).
Another useful strategy is to transfer some of your elixir into a spray
bottle and use it to spritz yourself as needed throughout the day. Carrying a
couple of the above stones may not go astray
either.

OBSERVATIONS MADE ON MY EASTER
BREAK.
Over the Easter period, we took time out, headed
north and had a holiday break. This provided a wonderful opportunity to sit
back, relax and interestingly, to observe people in action.
Our unit was located overlooking the pool and recreation area which
is where one of these observations unfolded. On Saturday it rained for most of
the day. Usually this is the day that the pool gets worked overtime. One family
of young children were huddled under the shelter below us and could be heard
bemoaning the bad weather.
