Selenite is one of the crystals of the “New Age”. What does this mean? It means that it has the energy to carry us forward to new beginnings, new understandings and into the new millennium and beyond. Selenite has the ability to clear away negative thoughts and bring in new awareness and clarity. A piece of selenite placed in the centre of a room helps instil calm and peace allowing all to have more conscious awareness. A Selenite candle holder or electric selenite light is a beautiful addition to any room, when lit Selenite takes on a new ‘light’ the soft glow from the light or candle adds a special something to your Selenite.
In healing a piece of Selenite is great for clearing the aura and awakening the Causal Charka (above the crown). If you want to carry a piece of Selenite it is best to use a tumbled piece as the raw ones tend to splinter if handled too much.
A selenite ball or larger pieces are excellent for holding to meditate. To cleanse your Selenite, place it out in the full moon, or smudge it with a white sage smudge stick. Never wash in water as selenite will dissolve in water. To remove physical dust and dirt wipe with a damp cloth.
